Eagle’s Trace Comes Together
Residents, staff, and family members all have many reasons to be thankful for the careful planning by Eagle’s Trace administrators and help from Highland Springs in Dallas, which allowed Eagle’s Trace to weather the devastation of Hurricane Ike.
“This was a team effort,” says Executive Director Kevin Knopf. “Our staff here at Eagle’s Trace needs to be commended for their hard work. They did everything necessary to ensure we were ready for this storm. Many went above and beyond the call of duty and stayed on campus to help the community and residents in any way possible.”
Staff and residents at Eagle's Trace are now doing whatever they can to help affected co-workers and others in the local community. A significant number of Eagle’s Trace’s 191 employees remain without power, water, or both. Many have sustained significant damage to their homes and are experiencing immense financial hardships.
The Greater Houston Community
Eagle’s Trace is also reaching out to assist its neighbors affected by Hurricane Ike.
“After hearing from a power company assessment team that a neighborhood that borders Eagle’s Trace was hit very hard by the storm, we mobilized members of our resident emergency response team and a group of staff volunteers to go door-to-door to deliver drinking water,” said Executive Director Kevin Knopf. “The citizens lining the neighborhood street gave the Eagle’s Trace team a standing ovation as the bus pulled away.”
